Why Choose Custom Cabinets

Designing & Building Custom Cabinetry

CABINET TYPES

  • Stock Cabinets: Stock cabinets come in various standard sizes; usually timber constructions with melamine shell over it. They are a readily available and affordable option.
  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: Semi-custom cabinets are constructed from a standard range but can be modified to suit the kitchen layout.
  • Custom Cabinets: Sydney Wide Kitchens can build custom cabinets to fit your kitchen; you can select from an array of materials for cabinet shell.

CABINET MATERIALS

  • Low-Pressure Laminate is easy to clean and available in diverse patterns and colours. Some examples are Laminex and Wilson-Art.
  • High-Pressure Laminate comes in a wide variety of patterns, colours, and finishes including gloss, satin and metallic. Some examples are particleboard or MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard).
  • Polyurethane Painted often comes with layers worked into the surface.
  • Solid Timber can be used as a structural or shell material, typically clear coated to get a natural finish.
  • Timber Veneers are effortless to clean and create a graceful look.
  • Vinyl Film is vacuum-sealed and is a newer option.

CABINETRY FIT-OUT

  • Shelving: Use open shelving for handy access for frequently used items; a walk-in island bench or a walk-in pantry preferably on lockable wheels for easy movement.
  • Cabinet Corner: A cabinet corner unfolds a distinctive problem for access that’s normally resolved by installing a bi-fold door. A revolving ‘lazy Susan’ in a corner cabinet can enhance access.
  • Drawers: Installing pull-out drawers with good quality, easy-glide runners inside cupboards is a great way to store things effortlessly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions frequently asked for Custom Made Kitchens. If you don’t get the answers you’re hunting for, contact us at Sydney Wide Kitchens or give us a
call on 02 9792 4824 and we’ll be glad to assist you.

What makes a kitchen ‘custom made’?

At Sydney Wide Kitchens, a custom made kitchen means it’s built just for you. We don’t use pre-cut or off-the-shelf pieces. Every cabinet, benchtop and layout is designed around your space, your taste and how you use your kitchen every day.

Is a custom kitchen worth the extra cost?

Yes. While the upfront cost is higher than a flat-pack kitchen, you're investing in something that fits your home perfectly and is built to last. With Sydney Wide Kitchens, you also get decades of hands-on craftsmanship, which shows in every detail.

Do you offer kitchen design advice too?

Yes, it’s part of what we do. We’re not just here to build, we’re here to help you design a kitchen that looks great and works beautifully. Whether you have a vision in mind or you’re starting from scratch, we’ll make it easy.

Do I have to arrange my own tradies?

No need. We can handle all the licensed trades for you, including electricians, plumbers and tilers. If you already have your own team, we’re happy to coordinate with them too.

Can my new kitchen match the rest of my home’s look?

Yes. Whether your home is modern, classic or a mix of both, we design kitchens that blend right in. At Sydney Wide Kitchens, we believe your kitchen should feel like part of the home, not a bolt-on.

How long does the full custom kitchen process take?

Once your design is locked in, the process usually takes around 4 to 8 weeks from manufacturing to installation. We’ll give you a clear schedule at the start, and we stick to it, no unnecessary delays.

Can I be involved in the design decisions?

Absolutely. You’ll choose the layout, materials, colours, hardware—even the finer details like storage features or finishes. Our experienced designers will guide you along the way, helping you make choices that work for both form and function.

My kitchen space is awkward. Can you still help?

Definitely, Sydney Wide Kitchens specialises in making tricky spaces work. Sloped ceilings, tight corners, uneven walls, we’ve seen it all and we know how to design around it without compromising on style or storage.

What materials do you use in your kitchens?

We only use high-quality materials that we’d be happy to have in our own homes. From stone benchtops and timber finishes to soft-close drawers and moisture-resistant cabinetry, we choose what’s built to last in a Sydney home.

Where does Sydney Wide Kitchens operate?

We’re based in Sydney and work across a wide range of suburbs. If you’re in or around Greater Sydney and looking for a custom kitchen, we’re ready to help. Just give us a call 0297924824 or send an enquiry through the website.
